Funding and M&A

BotBuilt Inc., a startup using robots to speed up residential construction projects, has raised $12.4 million in seed funding to finance growth initiatives.

TechCrunch reported the investment. BotBuilt’s backers are said to include Y Combinator, Ambassador Supply, Shadow Ventures and Owens Corning, a publicly traded building supplies provider. The capital infusion gives the company a post-money valuation of $35 million.

Infrastructure engineering software firm Bentley Systems has announced that it won in three categories at the 2023 Construction Computing Awards. Based on readers’ selections in an online poll, a panel of industry-expert judges made the final decisions

The new year is on the horizon and Thomas & Adamson (T&A), the international project management and cost consultancy firm, expects the construction industry’s evolution in 2024 will be fuelled by a mix of existing trends and fresh drivers. Rising raw material prices, labour shortages, higher labour costs, high demand, high competition, and government policies all influenced the built environment in 2023.

PlanRadar was born out of a need to simplify the challenges faced by the construction industry by way of digital solutions. The Vienna-based property technology start-up, which has operations in the Middle East, offers a full-service construction and real estate management platform.

Founded in 2013, PlanRadar is a platform and device-independent cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) field management solution for documentation and communication in construction and property projects. It can be used for fault and task management, maintenance, building inspections, construction documentation, handovers and more.
